Drooping leaves
Lost turgor: too much or too little water, or thermal shock.
Updated on 2026-07-17
Overview
Drooping leaves speak of cellular turgor loss. The plant has lost internal water pressure, and the causes are opposite yet similar: too much or too little water.
Differential diagnosis
Bone-dry soil + limp leaves → thirst.
Soggy soil + limp leaves → suffocated roots.
Drooping after transport → environmental shock, recovers in 3–4 days.
Natural remedies
If dry: bottom-water by soaking the pot for 30 minutes, then drain thoroughly.
Treatments
If rotting: pull out, cut soft roots, repot in dry mix.
Prevention
Consistent watering rhythm, stable temperature.
